Thomas Cutting, PMP
Thomas Cutting, Project Management Professional, is a Sr. Project Manager and PMO Manager with experience in the entertainment, retail, banking, automotive, healthcare and health insurance verticals. Managing, training, mentoring and working in this diverse background provides the basis for his consulting, writing and speaking engagements.
From Programmer to PMO, Business Analyst to Quality Assurance Analyst, he has experienced first hand the problems that teams face. As a consultant he led the PO/QA team for a large outsourcing engagement, experience that has helped him train and mentor Project Managers. He finds that the key to an effective PgMO is to listen to their issues and work with them to find practical resolutions, not impose strictly theory-based processes. In this he brings a balanced approach to managing at the project, program, and portfolio levels.
Although his proven track record is a good starting point, it is his ability to take complex topics, add a twist o humor, and make them understandable that sets his training sessions apart.
In addition to his work experience, he has written several Project Management articles for Computerworld, spoken at multiple conferences, and contributed to PMI’s Standard for Program Management 2nd Edition.
